Cats in Andorra: rules and travel

Companion animals must be identified by a vet and registered in the national animal register. Potentially dangerous dogs need training, insurance, an ID card, a muzzle and a short leash in public.

Rules are set nationally. The seven parishes (comuns) may add local rules that were not found online.

Registration and microchip

Registration

Cats count as companion animals, so the RAC registration and pre-sale identification rules apply to them.[1]

Microchip

Cats must be identified by a vet before sale, transfer or adoption. The method is set by regulation.[1]

Keeping rules

No cat-specific keeping rules beyond the general welfare, abandonment and mutilation rules.[1]
