Dogs in Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland: rules, tax and travel

In Fribourg dogs must be on a leash in forest from 1 April to 15 July, liability insurance with at least CHF 1 million cover is compulsory, and new owners must take a theory course. There is a cantonal dog tax, and communes may add their own.

Cantonal law LDCh (RSF 725.3) and regulation RDCh (RSF 725.31) set the rules and a cantonal dog tax; communes may add their own dog tax and leash zones.

The national rules for Switzerland apply here too. National rules
