Owners may not let dogs run at large off their property, but only where a county or municipality has adopted penalties. Dogs in state park facilities must be crated, caged or on a leash of six feet or less (Code 47-3-50, 51-3-145).[2]

Other rules

Dogs, cats and other pets must be vaccinated against rabies at the frequency needed for continuous protection, with a numbered metal tag (Code 47-5-60). The table gives no age.[3]
