Liability insurance
Dog liability insurance costs about 509 DKK a year in Denmark. source
Mandatory by the Danish dog act (hundeloven). Agria values its included puppy liability cover at 509 DKK/yr (stated value, not a standalone quote). Often sold bundled with health cover (Dyrekassen from 177 DKK/month for liability + health).
Before you buy
- New policies often have an age limit, so insuring young is cheaper and easier.
- There is usually a waiting period before illness cover starts.
- Conditions the animal already has are not covered.
- Check whether hereditary conditions such as hip dysplasia are covered. Each breed page lists the ones to ask about.
- A higher excess or co-payment lowers the price but raises what you pay at the vet.
- Look at the yearly limit. One operation can cost more than a cheap policy pays out.
