Low-shedding cats

Cats that leave the least hair around the home. No cat is allergy-free.

These breeds score lowest for shedding: short single coats, curly coats like the Rex breeds, or no coat at all. Less hair on the sofa does not mean fewer allergens, which come mostly from saliva and skin. Hairless cats need weekly baths instead of brushing. If you have allergies, meet the breed first and ask the breeder about kittens from cats you have spent time with.
