Breeds that bark the least. A good start for flats and close neighbours.
These breeds score lowest for barking. Some, like the Basenji, hardly bark at all, though they can yodel or howl instead. Training and boredom matter as much as breed: a quiet dog left alone and bored will find its voice. If barking is your main worry, look at the energy and copes-alone scores on the same card, and pick a dog whose daily needs you can meet.
